If you have a Current Debit Card and want to load cash, here is how you can do it. You can add money to your Current Bank account at your neighborhood store. There are more than 60,000 stores participating in the VanillaReload network, that allow you to deposit cash at the register. The stores include CVS Pharmacy, 7-Eleven, Dollar General, and Family Dollar. This deposit usually costs a $3.5 fee.
To make the deposit you don’t need the actual debit card. You have to generate the barcode in Current bank app and ask the cashier at the retail store to make the deposit. In some stores cashiers maybe less familiar with the procedure, so be patient.
There are limits on how much money your can add to Current bank. Each deposit is limited to $500. You’ll have to deposit many times if you wish to deposit more than $500. At the same time, stores may have their deposit limits, so keep that in mind as well. The Current Bank daily deposit maximum is $1,000, and your monthly deposit limit is $10,000. The amount should be more than enough for a majority of potential customers.
In my opinion, Current Bank deposits are very expensive. If you compare it with other cards like Chime and Capital One Debit Card that allow you to deposit cash for free. Keep in mind, however, that they have lower limits. Capital One allows only $999 per month. Cash App in its turn allows you to deposit for only a $1 fee.
The most cost-efficient way to deposit cash on your Current Debit Card is to first deposit for free to Chime or Capital One. You can deposit money at Walgreens to Chime bank and to Capital One at CVS Pharmacy. Then your can transfer fund your Current Bank. It is going to take some time.
Additionally, if you already have funds in some other bank account, you can make an ACH transfer. You’ll have to connect Current Bank using account number and routing number and then transfer money.
