Chase was one of the founding banks of Zelle. It was created by group of largest banks in the US in 2016. New payment system allows users to send small amounts of money. All you need is email or phone number of the recipient. You don’t need to know what bank your friend uses. At the same time you can change move Zelle from one bank to another.

Setup Zelle

Before you can use Zelle with your Chase checking account you have to set it up. First open the Chase website. Then on the main page in the login form enter your user name and password. Click Sign In.

After successful authorization you can see your Chase account information. In the top menu find “Pay and transfer” and click on it. Drop down menu opens where you have to choose “Send money with Zelle.”

On the “Pay bills and send money with Zelle” page you can see what payments are due and your recipient list. On the right side bar you can see your Chase account balance and list of recent payments.

In the top menu click on “Settings.” When drop down menu opens click on “Zelle settings.” Chase suggests adding your contact information that will be used for addressing payments. Click “Add contact info.”

Then select whether you want to use your email or your phone number as an id in Zelle. Click next.

Zelle sends a verification code to your email or phone number. It allows Chase to confirm that you have access to the account. Otherwise anyone can reassign your Zelle account and receive payments that are addressed to you.

When you receive verification code enter it and click “Activate. Chase says that you are going to transfer your mobile number from another bank. Check that you agree and click activate. Now you can see confirmation that your Chase account is now associated with Zelle.

How to send money with Zelle?

To add a Zelle recipient to Chase account open Chase.com in your browser. Then find the login form and enter your username and password. Click sign in.

On the dashboard of your Chase account in the top horizontal menu find “Pay and transfer” and click on it.

Then in drop-down menu find “Pay bills and send money with Zelle” and click on it.

On “Pay bills and send money with Zelle” page find “Recipient list.” In the section find “Add new recipient” and click on it.

On Add new recipient screen click “Send money with Zelle.”

On “Add a Zelle recipient” page enter the name of the recipient. Below enter the email of the recipient. Then click Save.

New Zelle recipient was added to your Chase account. You can send money using Zelle to this friend.

How to delete Zelle recipient?

If you added Zelle recipient by mistake or don’t want to send money to the recipient you can delete. To delete a Zelle recipient from Chase open chase.com in your browser. Then find the login form and enter your username and password. Click sign in

On the main page of your Chase account in the top horizontal menu find “Pay and transfer” and click on it. In the drop-down menu find “Pay bills and send money with Zelle.

On the “Pay bills and send money with Zelle” page scroll down and find “My Zelle recipients.” Then choose which Zelle recipient to delete and click on three dots. In the drop-down menu select “See/edit recipient details”

Then in the popup find “Delete recipient” and click on it. Next, you have to confirm that you want to delete recipient. Click on the blue button “Delete.”

Now you can see confirmation that the Zelle recipient was removed from Chase.

How to send money with Zelle?

How to make Zelle transfer from Chase Checking account to someone else? First, open the Chase bank website. Enter your username, password, check “remember me” and click “login” After you logged in, hover over “Pay and transfer”. In the drop down menu click on “Pay bill and send money with Zelle” On the “Send money with Zelle” scroll down and find the recipient whom you want to send money to. Tap on Pay. Next you have to enter the amount of transfer. I’ll send 10 bucks to my dear friend. Click next. Then you have to confirm that it is the correct recipient. Click next. Review all the details and click “Send money”

Chase: How to stop Zelle payment?

Can you cancel Zelle payment from your Chase account? First, open the Chase website. Then login using your user name and password. Click Sign in.

On the main screen click on “Pay and Transfer.” In the drop-down menu click on “Pay bill and send money with Zelle.” It should open page where you can pay bills.

On the pay bill page find block “Recent Payments.” Here you should be able to see your payment. If it is in “Pending Acceptance” status then you can click on “View.”

On the next screen click on “Cancel.” Then confirm that you want to “Cancel It.”

Keep in mind, that if Zelle payment was accepted then you cannot cancel it.

Bottom line

You can setup Zelle and register your email or phone number. It allows you to send and receive money. If you send money with Zelle a change your mind it maybe possible to stop the transaction. It is possible only if the recipient hasn’t accepted payment.
